Because of the broad variety of styles, it was rather hard to find the
right sequence of the 16 tracks. I think we have found a very good solution.
The CD starts with some orchestral, dramatic sounding pieces reminiscent
of a real movie score. Then the style turns more pop-like, with some nice
songs and ballads. There is a smooth transition to the more electronic
styles of furry music, and finally the last two songs bring the CD to its
somewhat hard and noisy but spectacular conclusion. We took extra care
to make it possible for everyone to enjoy this CD, listening to it in one
go without the need to skip forwards or backwards. No matter what your
musicial preferences are.
Here comes a short description of each track of Furry Fantasies II, along
with 1-Minute sample clips in mp3 format for you to check out. Please do
not distribute the mp3 files, but point people to this page instead.

Imagine a darkened theater, the first, dark
chords of music setting the mood as the opening credits appear on the screen,
leading into the first scenes of the action ...

Victory, Death, Suspense, Violence, Misery
... inspired by Larry Niven's "Man-Kzin Wars". Play it loud, close your
eyes, and see the action unfold.

This piece is another typical soundtrack queue,
with all its tempo changes, moodswings and surprises. And to obey the laws
of the movies, it concludes this little trilogy with a happy ending.

Who could you ask, when they lack understanding?
Who could you tell, when you're not of their kind? I think every furry
knows what Chama is talking about. His wonderful ballad is about lonelyness,
acceptance and self-knowledge. We apologize to Chama for misspelling his
name in the CD booklet. His full name is of course "Thomas Hagenfeldt".

Finally, some fun stuff after all these serious
themes. A lightweight, driving pop song, almost begging to be danced to.
(The furry poem appears courtesy of Croc O'Dile of TigerMuck. Because of
a very stupid error on my side, he was not mentioned in the booklet, which
he should have been. My apologies.)

This romantic ballad is set in the World of
Greg Howell's "Lights on Shattered Water". Its minimalistic setup, solo
piano and vocals, makes it all the more enchanting.

Another, rather sad song inspired by Greg Howell's
story. It's about the desperation of being stranded in an unknown world
where nothing seems to last.

Love, romance and sex ... the ultimate, never-ending
motivation of music since the very first days of mankind. This is a tiger's
lovesong.

You have probably guessed it: This highly energetic
piece of music is about more than just one kind of fire ...

The making of this song is no less confusing
than its title ... it started as a spontaneous cooperation on Eurofurence
4, and it would be easier to list the folks who have NOT participated.
Could you imagine your spine ending in a tail, or think about soft
paws that make your trail? Find it out!
(Sayh) - Download MP3
This is Sayh's little synthesizer tune he wrote
for a friend on the muck. Please note that, even though this CD is
called "Original Soundtrack", it has nothing to do with the movie "Ladyhawke".

Some things do only exist in our imagination,
and yet we're longing for them as if they were real. Let go to the rythm,
and dream ...
(Fairlight, remixed by Cheetah) - Download

This is the trance remix of Fairlight's "Morning in the
Jungle", and it's quite a contrast to his other works on this CD. Robert
Miles couldn't have done it better.

This heavily emotional, and somewhat serious
song is about desperation, loneliness, hate ... and the unbelievable power
of the bond between man and animal. The mp3 clip is taken from the last
minute of the song, which doesn't contain any of the text, since the text
only makes sense as a whole. By the way, the song also features a purring
cougar lady, and a couple of very friendly tigers.

The music is raw, wild and rough ...
Anyone who has ever visited a zoo will know what Soulstorm's full-fledged
rock song is about.

This is not a song for the faint-of-heart.
It's a violent, driving track, distorted breakbeats and hammering basses
telling a story of helplessness, pain and rage ... and a bloody revenge
as the full moon rises. The text is German. Go and buy the CD, there is
a translation in the booklet :) |
