Friends don't let friends suffer

Friends don't let friends suffer.
As friends will always be there.
Friends, they'll stand by your side,
Everything'll be alright,
Even when you feel all alone.

Once I was just so blind
And willingly closed my eyes.
Looked away as those I called friends suffered,
especially when I was the cause.

But in the darkest night,
A beloved friend cried,
And I knew it was because of me.
And he told me

Friends don't let friends suffer.
When you're down, they'll be there.
Friends don't let friends suffer.
It'll be alright, embraced tight,
with friends you're never alone.

I tried living up to it.
I really did my best.
I just stepped back, let my friends do the rest.
Though crying inside.

And in my darkest night,
I screamed for my right,
just to find my friends' ears deaf.
And although I cried friendship was dead.

I thought
Friends don't let friends suffer.
But suddenly I was alone.
And the ones I called friends,
left me by the wayside,
To die on my own.

So is it all a lie?
I scream and cry
As the pain runs over my heart.

And even though I'll never know if it's true,
I'll always dream of meeting you,
As inside my heart I'll always feel you as a friend.

And whispering with so much sorrow inside of me, my soul knows

Friends don't let friends suffer.
And this can't be the end.
And I will always hope,
For you, to come back to me smiling,
Telling me you understand now your own song.

As friends who let friends suffer,
If they are true friends,
They will always be forgiven,
As friendship always can prevail.
